HIT updates for NZ Bloodstock’s National Sale

NZ Bloodstock’s May Sale has received a host of positive pedigree updates since the catalogue went to print.

The Horses-in Training session offers a quality selection of 50 racehorses set to go under the hammer on Day 2 of the National Sale on Tuesday, May 3.

Lot 396:  Doctor Fremantle (Sadler’s Wells) from Haunui Farm.   Already a Group 2 winner of the Princess of Wales Stakes in England, this stallion’s family continues to improve, with his relative Stand to Gain (Hawk Wing) winning the Group 1 Sydney Cup last Saturday.

Lot 378:  Falkirk – Striking Sneek gelding from Letham Throughbreds.  A trial winner when the catalogue went to print, now named Court A Sneek, the three-year-old has since placed third on debut in the 1200 metre event at Trentham on 16 April.

Lot 412:  Miadonna (Don Eduardo) filly from Oxford Thoroughbreds.  She has finished second in her last two starts, most recently a 1600m Te Teko maiden on 7 April.

Lot 388:  Whitewash (Traditionally).  Half-sister to the Group 2 winner Keep The Passion (Keeper) being offered for unreserved sale by The Oaks Stud.  She placed fourth over 2100 metres at Counties on 10 April.

Lot 390:  Pure Theatre gelding from Kilgraven Lodge.  He was offered at the 2010 Ready to Run Sale, ran second in his first trial on 19 April at Cambridge over 800 metres.

Lot 405:  Karaka Jack (Darci Brahma) ran sixth on debut against a very competitive field of 14 that included previous race winners, in a $15,000 open two-year-old event over 1200 metres on 9 April.

There have also been some significant pedigree updates outside the HIT session.

Lot 482:  Bradbury Park mare Tenko.  Half-sister to G2 Emancipation Stakes winner Sworn to Secrecy (Keeper).  She has been served by Keeper so any foal produced from the covering will be a three-quarter relation to Sworn to Secrecy.

Lot 679:  Dormello Stud mare Molly Coco.  Sister to a Savabeel stakes winner Dowager Queen.  An easy winner of the Listed Champagne Stakes at Ellerslie, she is also Group 1 placed behind Anabandana in the Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes.  Dowager Queen holds a nomination for the Group 1 T J Smith Stakes in Brisbane in June.

Lot 170:  Royal Gem filly from Westbury Stud.  Out of a half-sister to Atomic Force (Danehill Dancer) the recent winner of the G1 Galaxy Handicap at Randwick.

Lot 46:  Zed colt from Bountiful Thoroughbreds.  A half-sister to a stakes winner in Jasminka (Sakura Seeking) who won the Listed Bright Shadow Quality in Doomben over 1200 metres.
