Hollylodge Thoroughbreds is expanding with the acquisition of a newly developed farm at Avenel.
Located directly across Hughes Creek from the old premises, the new farm will be completed within the next 12 months. It will be under the management of Daniel Nevill who won Racing Victoria’s Stud Hand of the Year award in 2011.
Hollylodge will be continue to agist for clients, walk on to local studs, foal down and prep for all sales in Australia.
Along with its new property, Hollylodge has also purchased a farm in the prestigious Northwood Road at Seymour close to Darley and Swettenham Studs. It will primarily accommodate Hollylodge Poll Herefords and shorthorn cattle, but will also cater for thoroughbreds.
Adding to those two farms will be a 500 acre farm located at Finley in NSW where dry mares, weanlings and yearlings can spell during the cold winter months in Victoria.
Hollylodge has a solid background in the industry since 1998. Owner Christine Nevill also operates a bloodstock consultancy and manages Flying Spur sire Zupaone.
