Holy Roman Emperor heads roster at Aquis Farm

Former Coolmore Stud shuttler Holy Roman Emperor (Ire) heads the inaugural roster for Queensland newcomer Aquis Farm.

He will be joined by erstwhile Darley stallions Domesday and Benfica.

Formerly operating as Wadham Park under the Patinack banner, it was acquired by Hong Kong billionaire Tony Fung in January 2015.  The Canungra property sits on 447 hectares and includes a state-of-the-art training facility.

Holy Roman Emperor (Danehill) stood at Coolmore Australian between 2007 and 2010 and returned for a fifth southern book last year.  His chief earner Mongolian Khan doubled up in the G1 NZ & Australian Derbies before adding last year’s G1 Caulfield Cup.

His ability to produce a top shelf performer isn’t limited to middle distance and staying horses as evidenced by his speedy daughter Angelic Light who was fast enough to beat the highest rated sprinter in the world Lankan Rupee.

Domesday (Red Ransom) is the sire of 7 stakes horses this season including the black-type winners Arcadia Dream (G2 WATC Derby), Antelucan (LR Adelaide Guineas) and Oregon’s Day (LR Thoroughbred Club Cup).

Lonhro’s Group 1 winning two-year-old Benfica is an outstanding example of the Sir Tristram line over Danehill line cross that combines the greatest local sirelines in recent history.  His oldest are two-year-olds and include recent Scone Inglis Challenge (1100m) winner Barbass.
