The Gerald Ryan trained Easter blueblood Hus Der Lieften became the latest beneficiary of the Inglis Race Series when picking up the $100,000 Bonus in Saturday’s Rosebud Inglis Bonus at Rosehill.
The race attracted a high quality field, with the first three across the line all to aim up at the Group 1 STC Golden Rose in four weeks time at the same track.
Hus Der Lieften (3c Hussonet-Sunday Valentine by Sunday Silence) continues to impress Ryan and part-owner Tony Bott of Evergreen Stud. He is the most expensive yearling sold by Hussonet in Australasia costing $1.2 million at the 2008 Inglis Australian Easter Sale.
He is a half-brother to Group 2 Edward Manifold Stakes (1600m) winner El Daana.
In an all Inglis finish, Hus Der Lieften charged home ahead of Stryker ($600,000 2008 Easter) and Romanus ($500,000 2008 Easter). The next race in the series for 2008 Inglis graduates is a $50,000 3YO Bonus at Seymour on August 23.
