Patinack Farm resident Husson sired his first winner in Beunos Aires on Good Friday.
Lady Hussy (2f Husson – Tula by Forlitano) broke through at her second start in the Premio Million Productos (1000m) clocking 56.08s down the straight course at San Isidro.
The Marcelo Sueldo trained filly missed the kick but mustered enough speed to challenge the leaders at the furlong. She defeated Painted Cat (Painter) by three-quarters of a length with Big Southern (Southern Halo) another four lengths away in third place.
Lady Hussy has now qualified for the San Isidro Million Final on May 21.
Earlier in the day at San Isidro, Che Huss came close to notching Husson’s first win when he was runner-up on debut to Storm Murky (Bernstein) over 1400m.
Bright Husson and Sabat Husson are other Husson youngsters who have been placed on debut in Argentina.
Lady Hussy’s dam Tula has already thrown winners by Tropical Thunder (Polish Navy) and Lord Card (Lord Hailey). Second-dam Forli’s Princess (Forli) is a three-quarter-sister to G1 Hollywood Derby winner Intrepid Hero.
Husson (Arg) stands for a $22,000 fee at Patinack Farm. He is a son of international sire influence Hussonet and was unbeaten in five starts – four of them at G1 level. He was Argentina’s Champion 2YO Colt in 2006 & Champion Miler in 2007.
Husson’s first southern bred yearlings sold to $100,000 at the 2011 majors. Top of the dial was the Husson – Talaq Dancer colt from Monarch Stud at the Gold Coast Magic Millions.
He was purchased by Valley View Heights and is from a half-sister to Hussonet’s Australian Horse of the Year Weekend Hussler.
