A colt by leading first-season sire I Am Invincible was the most expensive lot at the Inglis HTBA Scone yearling sale on Sunday.
Offered by Yarraman Park, the colt from Flickering Fire was sold to Darby Bloodstock for $82,500.
Next best on the leader-board were colts by Sebring (ex Fast Leaner) for $56,000and (ex Off The Canvas) for $52,500.
Paul Perry was the leading buy, just like he was last year, purchasing four yearlings for $108,000 including the colt from Off The Canvas that was offered by from Glastonbury Farms.
A Hinchinbrook – Gostego colt also made to agent John Foote acting for a Hong Kong client.
Manford Downs sold the top priced filly at the auction. Its I Am Invincible – Toldyas yearling sold to Pedrille Thoroughbreds for $41,000.
Sebring led the sires with his three averaging $47,500 while I Am Invincible had eight average $38,688.
The White Park auction held in conjunction with the Scone Cup carnival, saw 165 yearlings gross over $1.80 million. The average was $10,920 and the clearance rate 84%.
