Ilala Stud bred gelding wins in South Africa

Ilala Stud bred gelding Mzingeli won his second race in South Africa on Thursday at Turffontein.  He scored a convincing victory in the Racing Express Profile Hcp (1600m).

Mzingeli (4g Catcher In The Rye – Annie Mac by Advance Australia) is by a former Coolmore shuttler and is a half-brother to the Australian winners Elanon (Alannon), Miss Morley (River of Light), Mac Heart (T.V. Heart Throb) and Resurgan (Latarmiss).  Their dam Annie Mac foaled fillies by Ilala sire Eagle Rise prior to her death on October 2007.

Fraser sold Mzingeli as a foal for $8,000 at the 2006 Magic Millions National Sale.  She was purchased by Byefarm Breeders and has now earned R155,000 for the Macdonald family and trainer Brett Webber.
