Incitement – Bred to Win – Thursday, 10 December 2009

Peter Snowden has just two horses engaged at Thursday’s twilight fixture at Bendigo and both are winning chances.  The Darley trainer accepted with three runners in Race 4 but elected to keep Chart as his sole starter in the McKern Steel Plate.

Stablemate Incitement is primed to score his first win this campaign in the G.R. Caldwell Plumbing Hcp (Race 8 at 7.04pm AEDT).

Incitement (3g Viscount – Provokes by Octagonal) won his maiden at Pakenham in May and since resuming this season has been placed in Class 1 company behind Tuerong Flyer at Sale and Morossa at Geelong.

He is an on-pace runner and Mark Zahra should have plenty of time to get him across from an outside gate at the 1400m start.

Incitement is by former Woodlands sire Viscount who is now based at Neville Duncan’s Oakland Park in WA.  He is the first winner for Provokes who won three races in Sydney and was also G3 placed in the AJC Sapphire Stakes at Randwick.

Provokes is a half-sister Aquiver (Danehill), a winner of 8 races in Victoria including the Listed Ballarat Cup.  Second dam Excited Angel (Don’t Say Halo) won 12 races headed by the G2 VRC Bloodhorse Breeders’ Plate, G3 MVRC Diamond Jubilee Stakes, G3 VATC Coongy Hcp and G3 STC Queen of the Turf Stakes.
