Bob and Rosemary Scarborough weren’t going to part with their New Approach – Joolzy filly for anything less than six figures at the 2012 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale.

The Wood Nook Farm owners placed a $100,000 on the youngster and took her back home to Nagambie when bidding petered out at $75,000.

Named Indulgence, she was facing the starter for the fourth time when a front-running winner of the Hygain Feeds Maiden Plate (1300m) at Geelong on Thursday.  The Scarboroughs and trainer Anthony Freedman are hoping she stays up for more than one run this prep.

Indulgence (3f New Approach – Joolzy by Noble Bijou) has been tipped out for spells of 28, 22, and 10 weeks since her debut in March 2013.  She drifted out to $3 at Geelong but was always travelling like a winner for Daniel Moor.

Former Darley shuttler New Approach sired her in his first-season at Sheikh Mohammed’s Victorian operation at Seymour.  He didn’t return after covering a fourth southern book at Northwood Park in 2012.

Indulgence is the last foal of Joolzy who delivered numerous winners for the Scarboroughs including Marble Halls (Nassipour).  He was trained by Lee Freedman to 7 wins topped by the G1 Toorak Hcp at Caulfield in 1998.

Joolzy, who died in June 2011, is also the second-dam of G1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner Sleek Chassis (Flying Spur).  She carried the Scarborough silks and her latest foals are a 2yo filly by More Than Ready and a filly foal by Street Cry.
