Inglis Rural lists Think Big Stud

Dato Tan Chin Nam is scaling back his racing interests with the sale of Think Big Stud in the southern highlands of NSW.

The 122ha property is on the market with Inglis Rural and could fetch up to $20 million.  He cited increasing age and his children’s lack of interest in racing for the sale.

The 90-year-old Malaysian property billionaire has been associated with a number of leading horses over the years, many trained by his close friend Bart Cummings who died last year aged 87.  Most famous of all are his Melbourne Cup winners Think Big (1974-75), Saintly (1996) and Viewed (2008).  He also raced So You Think before selling the dual Cox Plate winner to Coolmore Stud.

The farm is equipped for commercial stud operations and pre-training work with stallion barns, foaling yards and an irrigated 1200m grass track.

Dato Tan Chin Nam has a global empire of hotels and shopping centres and his Australian property interests have included World Square, Queen Victoria Building, Strand Arcade and Capitol Theatre in Sydney.
