International double for Onemorenomore

Free-running Bentles returned to his best form for Ridgeview Park sire Onemorenomore at Doomben on Saturday.

The Tony Gollan trained gelding was racing second-up since a spell and dictated terms in front to score by two lengths in the Mt Franklin Hcp (1600m).  He was a $55,000 buy for Australian Thoroughbreds manager Jamie Bourke and has since earned $130,000 from 5 wins in 16 starts.

“This time last year he won two races really impressively but got a virus that really knocked him around,” Gollan said.  “He came back and won a race, but he just wasn’t the same horse, so I decided to give him a really good spell to let him fully recover.

Bentles (5g Onemorenomore – Lady Gracious by Redoute’s Choice) is a half-brother to LR VRC Gibson Carmichael Stakes winner Affable (Husson) and his dam is a half-sister to Blue Gum Farm sire Turffontein.

“He just goes about his business with no fuss and delivers 100%,” Gollan added.  “We were setting him for Magic Millions Trophy in January before the virus.  I’m pretty confident he will get out to 2000m and be a nice middle distance horse.”

Onemorenomore (Red Ransom) was a Group 1 winner of the AJC Champagne Stakes at Randwick and will begin serving his first Victorian mares later this week at a $5,500 (inc gst) fee.

The Ridgeview Park resident sired another Singapore winner on Sunday when Sun Dance was successful at Kranji over 1600m.  Owned by Macau businessman Cheng Ting Kong, he was always in the gun spot before responding with a stinging run under visiting jockey Wong Chin Chuen.

“He travelled well with no pressure and no-one disturbed him,” Wong said.  “He had plenty of galloping room and won a nice race in the end.”

Onemorenomore has a great strike-rate in Singapore and his winners up there include black-type sprinters Excellent One (2nd G3 Juvenile Championship) and Genius (2nd G2 Aushorse Golden Horseshoe).
