Jimmer Time launches Librettist in NZ

Westbury Stud stallion Librettist notched his first New Zealand winner on Saturday when Jimmer Time landed the Waiwera Water 2YO Hcp (1300m) at Ellerslie.

The Anne Herbert trained gelding settled second to last for rider Craig Grylls but showed a good turn of foot to score comfortably from King Zeus (Thorn Park) and Cosmic Dust (Savabeel).

Jimmer Time (2g Librettist – Rosey Dane by Woodman) is from a winning daughter of Rose Of Dane who was a Listed winner of the Summoned Stakes and G1 placegetter in the Karrakatta Plate.

Westbury Stud owner Gerry Harvey will make a decision shortly whether to bring Librettist back to NZ for another season in 2012.  The Darley stallion had been based at Dalham Hall Stud and Haras du Logis before making a further move to Italy earlier this year.

Librettist (Danzig) began shuttling to Darley Kelvinside in 2008 before transferring to Westbury.  “It all depends on how his first crop performs,” Harvey explained.  “But they’re off to a good start.”

Librettist opened his account with Carried Away at Queanbeyan in December and Classical Melody won at Orange before finishing fourth to Cavalry Rose in the Inglis 2yo Classic at Rosehill.

Westbury nominated Jimmer Time’s yearling half-brother by Darci Brahma for the 2012 NZB Karaka Sale but he was withdrawn.  Their dam Rosey Dane was served by Swiss Ace last year.

Librettist (Danzig) was a Group 1 winning miler in Europe and his first northern crop included British G2 winner Libranno.
