Sworn To Secrecy impressed with an authoritative win in the G2 Emancipation Stakes (1600m) at Royal Randwick on Saturday.
 
Sworn To Secrecy (3f Keeper – Heartache by Casual Lies) was the only three-year-old in the field and accounted for her older rivals with remarkable ease winning by over two lengths from Skyerush (Super Jet) and Shannara (Octagonal).

Trainer Andrew Scott bought her for $52,000 from Poplar Lodge at the 2009 NZ Bloodstock HIT Sale and she won at Taupo and Matamata before Australian interests came calling in November.  The new connections include Neil Werrett who also part-owns Black Caviar.

While not in the same league as the world champion sprinter, Sworn To Secrecy has been a progressive horse under John O’Shea’s guidance with placings in LR Canberra Guineas and G2 Phar Lap Stakes before receiving her due reward against the older mares in the Emancipation Stakes.

Sworn To Secrecy is a half-sister to the stakes performers Tenko (Shinko King) and One Nite Stand (Cullen).  Their dam Heartache has foaled fillies by Falkirk, Perfectly Ready and Don Eduardo in the last three seasons and she was bred back to Keeper last year.  

Second dam Chaleyer (Covetous) won the G2 AJC St Leger and G3 Adrian Knox Stakes.

Cambridge Stud resident Keeper came of age as a sire on Saturday.  Sworn To Secrecy took his stakes winner tally to 21 and Sir Patrick Hogan has bumped his fee up to $17,500 this year.

Keeper (Danehill) has sired six stakes winners this season headed by Keep The Peace.  She won the New Zealand Oaks last year and has added G1 victories in the Mudgway Stakes and Otaki Classic.
