Keltrice gelding wins Balaklava Cup

Magical Pearl registered the 20th stakes win for Keltrice in the LR Balaklava Cup on Wednesday.

Keltrice has been based at Eric Buttler’s Rangal Park in Euroa since 1995 and his overall stud record stands at 320 individual winners of 1025 races.  The evergreen owns a heady 68% strike rate.

Magical Pearl (8g Keltrice – Boundary West by Mister Frisky) is trained by Dennis O’Leary and earned his first black-type victory in the G3 Penny Edition Stakes in August 2009.

He is an older half-brother to Big Slick (With Class) who has won 7 races for the same connections, the last of them at Morphettville in July.

Owner-breeder Stav Georgios sent their dam to Lago Delight for the next four seasons without any luck to date.

Keltrice will stand for an advertised service fee of $4,400 (inc gst) this year.
