King Kicks three winners at Wodonga

Get Ya Kicks made it a festive season to remember for Lachie King with a powerful victory at Wodonga on Boxing Day.

The well-named winner completed a treble for the rookie apprentice following Jay Al Cracker (Rakti) and Apito (Strategic).

Get Ya Kicks notched his 6th career-victory in the Naubro Hcp (1590m) for part-owner and trainer James Fraser.  “It was great to get three in one day,” King said.  “We used 4kg off the back to advantage and pulled it off.”

The son of Greta West Stud stallion Keep The Faith was due for a change of luck after 5 seconds in a row around the north-eastern circuit of Victoria.

Fraser bought Get Ya Kicks as a foal at the 2012 Inglis Great Southern Sale.  His dam Route Sixty Six (Redoute’s Choice) won 4 races on the Gold Coast and her only other foal to race has been Malaysian winner Speed Flying.  Second-dam St. Este (Covetous) is a sister to Group 1 winner St. Covet.

Fraser has another link with Greta West through his good mare Shivoo (Invincible Spirit) who earned more than $100,000.  She foaled a filly by God’s Own in September.

Keep The Faith (Sunday Silence) has sired 21 individual winners this season for earnings of $490,000.  He stands at Greta West for a $3,300 (inc gst) fee.
