Krone in the Zone for Newgate Farm

Newgate Farm freshman Eurozone broke the ice for his first winner at Morphettville on Saturday and he did it in style with talented youngster Krone taking out the LR Cinderella Stakes (1050m).

Placed at her first two starts at Moonee Valley and Bendigo last month, the Darren Weir trained filly had race fitness and experience on her side for the black-type assignment.

Krone settled last in the field of seven and zoomed to the line to win by a length and a length from Humma Humma (Denman) and Viennese Star (I Am Invincible).

Bred by Bell View Park, she made $30,000 as a foal at the Magic Millions National Sale to Rae-Louise Charlton of Fernrigg Farm.  Pin-hooked for the 2017 Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale, she doubled in value to $60,000 and doubled again when fetching $120,000 at the 2017 Magic Millions 2YO Sale.

Owned by Roll the Dice Racing, Krone is the second winner for Soft Landing (Al Maher), a half-sister to Group 1 winners Universal Prince and Universal Queen.  Her yearling filly by Eurozone will be offered at the Adelaide Magic Millions by Krisnat Park as Lot 201.

Eurozone was a brilliant winner of the G2 Stan Fox Stakes and is the third son of Northern Meteor to sire a winner joining Zoustar and Fighting Sun.  He stood for an $11,000 (inc gst) fee at Newgate Farm in 2017.
