Krupt relocated to Kooringal Stud

Krupt has arrived at Kooringal Stud in readiness to serve his first book in the Riverina.  A brilliant juvenile, he had been based at Lincoln Farm in the Hunter Valley.

Krupt was a G2 winner of the STC Todman Slipper Stakes defeating G1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner Reaan.  The Todman Slipper honour-roll includes such luminaries like Charge Forward, Exceed And Excel, General Nediym, Maurauding, Crown Jester and Luskin Star.

The Todman proved to be his career finale as a series of injuries over an extended period prevented him from facing the starter again.  “I have worked with some extremely smart ones,” trainer Matthew Smith claimed.  “But he was as good a horse I have been around.”

Krupt’s younger half-sister Anevay (Exceed And Excel) improved the family’s pedigree with a Listed victory in the VRC Talindert Stakes at Flemington earlier this year.

Krupt possesses a fascinating pedigree.  Not only is he a son of Flying Spur, he also hails from Flying Spur’s female family.

Both Krupt and Flying Spur trace back to the celebrated North American mare Fanfreluche.  She is the matriarch of a lineage that also includes Australian champion sire Encosta de Lago.

Krupt commenced stud duties in 2010 at a service fee of $8,800 (inc gst) but will stand for just $5,500 (inc gst) in his initial season at Kooringal Stud.
