Tattersalls October yearling sale drew to a close on Friday evening when Book 3 was topped by a 65,000gns Kyllachy filly purchased by Saeed Manana.
Saeed Manana is a friend of the Maktoum family and his interests are managed by Rabbah Bloodstock. “She looks like a two-year-old,” Rabbah racing manager Jono Mills said. “She’s a racy filly with a bit of a page to her.”
The Kyllachy filly is out of a half-sister to Coolmore colt Power (Oasis Dream) who won the G2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and then added the G1 National Stakes at the Curragh. He was a last-start second to Parish Hall in the G1 Dewhurst Stakes.
Breeze-up buyer Jamie Railton paid 57,000gns for the day’s only Acclamation, a filly appearing from Langton Stud. “I think she’d have made more on Thursday evening,” Railton said. “She’s a filly by a great sire out of a mare who has had two winners from two runners.”
The 2011 Tattersalls October catalogue was the smallest in six years but finished with turnover of 78.80 million gns. That was a rise of 6.40 million gns from 2010 and the average price of 64,471gns was the highest since 2005.
