Arqana’s December Sale remains on course to slightly better its figures from last year despite a low-key penultimate session on Monday.
After three days, the overall average stands at 32,542 euros which represents a rise of 3%.
Land Star (Peintre Celebre) topped Day 3 at 55,000 euros. She was purchased by Paul Nataf on behalf of her previous part-owner Enrico Ciampi.
The three year-old filly was beaten a short neck by the eventual G2 Prix Chaudenay winner Shankardeh (Azamour) in a restricted event at Lyon in April.
Land Star is a half-sister to the Listed winner Law of Chance (Pennekamp) and to the dam of this year’s G3 Prix de Conde winner Loi (Lawman).
“She was sold to dissolve a partnership between Enrico Ciampi, Salah Mosbah Al Mabruk and Ecurie Eclipse,” Nataf explained. “I have bought her for Enrico who held a majority share beforehand. We hope Loi will run in the English Derby next year, so we were keen to keep her.”
The Arqana December Sale concludes on Tuesday. Full results are available at: www.arqana.com
