Larneuk stands O’Lonhro for $9,900

Trainer Wayne Hawkes gave O’Lonhro a ringing endorsement shortly after Larneuk Stud owner Neville Murdoch announced the G2 winner would be retired his Euroa nursery.

“He’s a lovely horse and had the right attitude, temperament and ability to be a top class galloper.”

O’Lonhro is the very first stakes winning son of Lonhro to retire for stud duties.  He will stand for an introductory fee of $9,900 (inc. gst).

“We feel it is a good price for such an exciting prospect,” Murdoch explained.  “As Wayne said, he has so much going for him – good looks and outstanding ability.”

A three times winner from nine starts, O’Lonhro is the fastest ever winner of the G2 Chelmsford Stakes.  The Randwick feature has been won by some outstanding gallopers including Lonhro (twice), Eremein, Intergaze, Might And Power, Juggler, Filante, Dr Grace, Campaign King and Emancipation.

A $220,000 Magic Millions yearling hailing from a strong black type family, O’Lonhro was considered by the stable to be a top-liner.  “He was definitely a Group 1 horse,” Wayne Hawkes said.

Murdoch revealed bookings are already coming in for O’Lonhro.  Broodmare owners can inspect the four-year-old, who bears a striking resemblance to his sire, by contacting Murdoch on 0418 105 706.
