Linda Meech has a strong book of rides at Warrnambool and is a big chance to take out today’s jockey challenge. The highly sought after provincial hoop can wrap the day up with a winner aboard Light Tan in the Matko Hire Handicap 1400m (Race 8 at 5.15pm AEDT).
Light Tan (4g Bianconi-Voodalou by Voodoo Rhythm) is trained by David O’Leary at Mt Gambier and he was narrowly beaten into third place last start when favourite. The step up to 1400m is ideal and with the gun run from gate three, should prove hard to hold out.
Light Tan is by Swettenham Stud’s consistent winning producing sire Bianconi and is from the stakes placed Voodalou. He has a yearling half sister by Eliza Park sire Bel Esprit.
