Little Critter has been retired to cover his first book at JTM Thoroughbreds at Carinda in NSW.
Victorian-based breeder Kylie Stephenson stands Little Critter in association with Tiahn Lovell of JTM Thoroughbreds. Stephenson also has Rhinebeck (Encosta de Lago) based at Cora-Lynn Stud in Lancefield.
Little Critter (Court Command – Gotha by Rustic Amber) was purchased by Tony McEvoy for $40,000 from the Murrulla Stud draft at the 2011 Gold Coast Magic Millions. He is a half-brother to 8 winners including Chakvetadze (G3 Gold Coast Guineas).
He is a grandson of champion sire Commands through Court Command who won the G2 Stan Fox Stakes, G3 Up & Coming Stakes, G3 Golden Rose Stakes, G3 BTC Sprint – all by wide margins – and he was also Group 1 placed in the Caulfield Guineas.
Beginning his career in Adelaide, Little Critter won the Junction Cup Lunch Plate (1000m) second time out at Morphettville and then finished fourth to Hoss Amour in the Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic.
“He was an exceptionally tough two-year-old,” Stephenson said. “And on type and temperament he is very Commands, a lovely sprinting type who should produce tough, fast early comers.”
Little Critter’s introductory fee is $2,200 (inc gst). For further information, call Kylie Stephenson (0498 747 442) or Tiahn Lovell (0498 242 693).
