Last start Perth G3 winner Eight Till Late has been put down after sustaining a pedal bone injury.
Eight Till Late (3f Lonhro – Future Choice by Redoute’s Choice) was prepared by Shane Edwards for Singapore based Tang Weng Fei and local owner Kim Loxton.
They bought her as a foal for $45,000 at the 2009 Magic Millions National Sale. She was offered by Glastonbury Farm and is from a half sister to the stakes winners Suavity (G3 Tasmanian Derby) and Akarana (Listed VRC Vanity Stakes).
Loxton was devastated when talking about the loss earlier this week. “She had so much untapped ability,” he said. “She was looking good for the WA Oaks in April.”
Eight Till Late had been unplaced at Belmont and Northam before scoring a last stride victory at $41 in the Champion Fillies on November 12.
Her dam Future Choice has a colt by Darley sire New Approach that has been catalogued as Lot 550 at the 2012 Inglis Melbourne Premier yearling sale.
