Darley stallion Lonhro recorded his 100th winner of the season when Vision Retract claimed the Sunnylake Shores Hcp (1100m) at Wyong on Thursday.
No Australian stallion has ever achieved that feat by the first week in February. Together, they have won 147 races and earned over $4.05 million.
Bred by Ron Gilbert at Highgrove Stud, Vision Retract is out of city-winning Flying Spur mare Retract, a half-sister to Regard, the dam of G1 winning Commands mare Commanding Jewel and her star half-sister Atlantic Jewel.
Lonhro has a clear buffer at the top of the leading sires’ list by winners over Choisir and Bel Esprit on 93. His sixth career Group 1 winner arrived last month when three-year-old filly Bounding won the Railway Stakes in New Zealand.
Lonhro has 12 yearlings catalogued for the Melbourne Premier Sale and 25 yearlings catalogued for the Inglis Easter Sale.
