Patinack Farm will introduce French classic winner Lope De Vega to Australian breeders in 2011 and his service fee has been set at $27,500.  

Lope de Vega is currently standing his first season at Ballylinch Stud in Ireland.  He emulated his sire Shamardal by winning the French 2000 Guineas and French Derby.  Darley shuttler Shamardal has sired 27 stakes winners including four at G1 level from only four crops of racing age.

Flying Spur sire Casino Prince will also stands at $27,500.  His first-crop half-brother to Black Caviar topped the Inglis Easter yearling sale at $1,025,000 last Wednesday.

Patinack chairman Nathan Tinkler has also expanded his breeding interests into Queensland.  Heading the stallion line-up at Canungra in the Gold Coast hinterland will be High Chaparral’s dual Derby winner Monaco Consul (NZ).

“In setting our 2011 stallion fees, we have been mindful of the sales results throughout the year and have noted the competitive nature of the market,” Tinkler said.  “We will not be increasing any of our service fees for the upcoming season.

“The present state of thoroughbred trading in Australasia, comparative to other parts of the globe, is a real indication of the resilience of the local industry.  Collectively we have been able to stabilise what was a volatile market.

“The first crop of our three foundation sires Casino Prince, Husson (Arg) and Wonderful World will commence their racing careers later this year.  We also have an outstanding first crop of foals on the ground by our juvenile speedster Murtajill and we await the arrival of the first foals by Raheeb.”
