Armidale Stud welcomed three foals by its Rahy sire Helike in the first week of September.
Helike won twice at Saint-Cloud and he is out of French Oaks winner East Of The Moon Private Account). She is a half-sister to champion sire Kingmambo (Mr Prospector) and three others stakes winners.
Second dam Miesque (Nureyev) was an all-time great winning 8 Group 1 events in France plus the English 1000 Guineas and US Breeders’ Cup Mile.
The first Helike on September 4 is a filly from Genuine Blonde (Sandpit), a Listed winner of the Tasmanian 1000 Guineas. The dam has visited Eliza Park stallions in recent years producing a filly by Delago Brom and then a colt by Clangalang.
A Helike filly from Cherish (Aliocha) arrived the following day at the Carrick nursery. The dam won at Elwick and has a 2yo colt by Savoire Vivre.
Unraced Danehill mare Elfin Hill delivered the first Helike colt of the season on September 6. Her only other runner to date is TTC Alfa Bowl 2YO Plate winner Son Of Viscount (Viscount). Elfin Hill has a 2yo filly named Elfin Cash (Dash for Cash) and a yearling colt by Econsul.
Armidale sire Savoire Vivre started the new racing season with seven winners in August! By far the most exciting horse by the son of Sadler’s Wells is the Peter Moody trained Pass Me By.
Bred by Rob Lynch of Lynrowan Stud in Hobart, Pass Me By made it three wins in a row when he won over 2500m at Moonee Valley on August 22.
The Savoire Vivre stock have won as far afield as Gosford (Robbed) and Adelaide (Side Splitter) as well as a steady stream of winners in Tasmanian and Victoria.
