Lush Lashes follows Mosheen to Japan

Champion Japanese sire Deep Impact has attracted another Group 1 winning mare to Shadai Stallion Station in 2013.

Shadai part-owner Katsumi Yoshida has purchased Lush Lashes from Irish owner-trainer Jim Bolger and the seven year-old mare will continue her breeding career in Japan.

Last week, Melbourne mare Mosheen (Fastnet Rock) was retired in readiness to be mated with Deep Impact.  She was a G1 winner of the VRC Oaks this time last year when part-owner Phil Sly sold a half-share to Yoshida.  The filly went on to further G1 victories in the Australian Guineas and Randwick Guineas before signing off with an unplaced effort in the G2 Tristarc Stakes at Caulfield last week.

Bolger also accepted a lucrative offer from the Yoshida family last week.  Lush Lashes (Galileo) won the Goffs Million on debut and then graduated to G1 level with victories in the Coronation Stakes and Yorkshire Oaks.  She is currently in foal to Oasis Dream and Bolger retains a family connection through a Lawman – Lush Lashes filly born earlier this year.

Deep Impact (Sunday Silence) swept the 2005 Japanese Triple Crown and is destined to assume the mantle of Japan’s champion sire which his own sire held for 13 years.
