Magic Millions Quest by Ilovethiscity

Larneuk Stud sire Ilovethiscity has a live chance for the $2 million Magic Millions Guineas (1400m) with his unbeaten gelding Vivaldi’s Quest.

Adelaide trainer Lloyd Kennewell knows the route to the Gold Coast having won the 2015 Magic Millions Guineas with Deiheros.

“Vivaldi’s Quest surprised me a bit today,” Kennewell said after preparing the first two home in the Roadside Service & Solution Hcp (1050m) at Morphettville.  “He got checked and shuffled back to last but he was really strong to the line.

“I was really happy with his win – it’s great for the owners.  Their last horse was a slow one and they lease this bloke off Luke Koumi.”

Ridgeview Park-bred filly Gold Denari is also heading to the Sunshine State after losing by less than a length to her stablemate.

Vivaldi’s Quest (3g Ilovethiscity – Autumnconcerto by Hussonet) is from an unraced half-sister to Group 2 P B Lawrence Stakes winner Second Effort.  He was a bargain $18,000 buy at last year’s Adelaide Magic Millions.

Ilovethiscity (Magic Albert) won at Group 1 level in the 2011 Randwick Guineas (1600m) and hails from the immediate family of champion sires Grosvenor and Lonhro.

Darley shuttler Helmet ($346k) leads Victorian-based second-season sires this season ahead of Ilovethiscity ($154k), Moshe ($134k), Toorak Toff ($131k) and Canford Cliffs ($123k).

Larneuk studmaster Nev Murdoch stands Ilovethiscity for a $6,600 (inc gst) service fee alongside Cluster (Fastnet Rock) and O’Lonhro (Lonhro).
