Group 1 Caulfield Guineas placegetters Huegill will be sent to Perth after topping the Magic Millions National Racehorse Sale. Four’s days of selling concluded at the Gold Coast on Friday when 112 lots grossed of over $1.40 million.
Huegill (4g More Than Ready – Trust Antonia by National Assembly) was sold for $95,000 to WA trainer Darryn Pateman. He had won at Cranbourne and Sandown in September 2011 and was then third home in the Caulfield Guineas behind Helmet and Manawanui.
A homebred for Turangga Farm owner Stuart Ramsey, he is from Trust Antonia who was a G1 winner of the Allan Robertson Fillies Championship in South Africa.
The Unreserved Racehorse Reduction Sale from Patinack Farm proved extremely popular with buyers on Friday. Among the most popular were They Won’t Last ($50,000 to Bruce Hill), From London ($46,000 to Richard Freyer), Lingerie Model ($45,000 to Heinrich Bloodstock) and Crown of Coureuse ($43,000 to Glenelg Park).
Glenlogan Park’s proven city winner Joint Chiefs was purchased by Brian Wakefield for $36,000, while a Northern Meteor half sister to recent Brian Crowley Stakes winner Better Than Ready sold to $32,500 to Oakwood Farm.
