Cranbourne trainer Greg Eurell looks to have pulled the right rein with Majestical.
The Montjeu six-year old is set to line up in Sunday’s Benalla Gold Cup (2046m) and, despite having 58kg on his back, looks to have his hoof right on the till.
Majestical is yet to miss a place in four starts around the 2000m range and, with the aid of barrier one and the services of Chris Symons, looks extremely tough to hold out.
Already a winner of the Listed Cranbourne Cup, Majestical was unlucky when narrowly beaten by Red Lord in G3 company at Caulfield last time out.
Majestical is the third stakes victor for the Nassipour mare Grosvenor’s Pride, making him a brother to G2 GCTC Hollindale Stakes and G3 BTC Cup winner Fulmonti.
