UAE Derby winner Musir will cross paths with Denman when he returns to Australia. The Redoute’s Choice colt will be set for the Sydney spring carnival while Denman’s future revolves around the European circuit this year.
Denman (Lonhro) is the latest Darley galloper to head overseas. He joins the likes of Fravashi (Falbrav) and Marching (Commands) who have just finished encouraging campaigns in Dubai.
Fravashi was beaten less than a length by Joy And Fun (NZ) in the G3 Al Quoz Sprint on Saturday night while Marching’s best effort in two starts was a fourth to stablemate Sirocco Breeze over 1400m on February 18.
Apart from a debut third at Flemington in December 2008, Denman’s only defeats in a 12 start Australian career were over a mile in the Caulfield and Australian Guineas.
He is currently in quarantine in readiness for a transfer to Sheikh Mohammed’s Newmarket stables where he will prepared for the G1 July Cup.
