Mares across all budgets will start going under the hammer as from Monday in the Magic Millions National Sale at the Gold Coast.

“People often ask me where there’s an opportunity in the market – and right now there is an opportunity with young mares in foal,” Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox said.  “The industry is looking strong with prizemoney set to increase in the coming seasons and to me there’s never been a better time to be investing in mares.

“We have some great prospects going through the ring – a large percentage of the lots are in foal to leading sires and a number in foal to young sires who always sell well as weanlings or yearlings.

Cox believed it was the “youngest” catalogue of mares and breeding prospects to be offered at the sale which commences at 10am on Monday.
