Lee Freedman has been waiting for the right day to start Master Of Design. The multi-million dollar yearling didn’t get a run from the emergency list at Moonee Valley last Friday night and he was also withdrawn from Sale on Tuesday.
Master Of Design (4h Redoute’s Choice – Urge To Merge by Last Tycoon) has accepted for the Hattam St Tyre & Mech. Hcp (Race 8 at 5.15pm AEDT) at Bendigo this afternoon.
Master Of Design is by Arrowfield’s leading sire Redoute’s Choice from a winning sister Champion South African filly Tracy’s Element and leading NZ sire Towkay and she is also a half-sister to the Danehill stakes winners Cullen and Danasinga.
Tracy’s Element is the dam of brilliant mare Typhoon Tracy (Red Ransom), a G1 winner of the VRC Myer Classic and Coolmore Classic.
Urge To Merge has had five to race for as many winners starting with Suntagonal (Octagonal), a G1 winner of the Greyville Champion Stakes in South Africa. She is also the dam of Allied Force (Redoute’s Choice) who looked a star in the making this time last year when spacing his rivals at Bendigo and then winning twice at Moonee Valley.
Master Of Design is raced by Sheikh Mohammed and cost $2.1 million from the Arrowfield draft at the 2007 Inglis Easter yearling sale. He won by four lengths at Seymour in May and, after a 22 week spell, was run down by Rescheduled at Yarra Glen on October 24.
