Leading Kentucky based sire Medaglia d’Oro will be available to cover on southern hemisphere time at Darley’s Jonabell Farm in Lexington.
The sire of top three-year-old Rachel Alexandra, Medaglia d’Oro stood the 2009 season for US$60,000 at Stonewall Farm in Kentucky before Darley purchased a majority interest in the ten-year-old stallion in June.
“Medaglia d’Oro is shaping up as one of the world’s most exciting stallions,” said Ollie Tait, chief operating officer of Darley America. “The feats of Rachel Alexandra have been amazing and his progeny are displaying talent on all racing surfaces.”
Medaglia d’Oro is the sire of 10 black type winners with just two crops on the track with a total of 20 total stakes horses. He is currently the leading sire in North America (earnings) and the fourth-ranked leading General Sire by global earnings.
