Moore winners for Starcraft

Trainer John Moore trained four winners at Sha Tin on Saturday including a first-timer for Arrowfield sire Starcraft.

Supreme Knight overcame a wide draw to give Starcraft a breakthrough result in Hong Kong.  Moore prepares him for owner James Tien Pei Chun.  His other winners on the card were the G1 Chairman’s Sprint Prize with Dim Sum (Kyllachy) and support races with Leading City (Shamardal) and Sunny King (Desert Sun).

Supreme Knight (3g Starcraft – Ducks by Woodman) was purchased by George Moore Bloodstock for $350,000 from the Kitchwin Hills draft at the 2009 Inglis Easter yearling sale.  He is from a half-sister to G1 winner Northern Drake.

Starcraft is the sire of first-crop Group 1 winners Star Witness (MRC Blue Diamond Stakes) and We Can Say It Now (NZ Captain Cook Stakes).

Star Witness is set to open his autumn campaign in the Listed Manfred Stakes at Caulfield on Wednesday.  We Can Say It Now returns in New Zealand’s G1 Waikato Sprint on Saturday.

Starcraft is building up for a Super Saturday this weekend with his WA filly Foo Foo the Snoo engaged in the Magic Millions Perth 2YO Classic while his Melbourne filly Hallowell Belle is nominated for the G3 Blue Diamond Prelude.

Arrowfield champion Redoute’s Choice was also active in Japan on Saturday with Tokyo winner Clianthus.  The Shadai homebred won the Haruna Sho (1400m) from Red Herencia (Jungle Pocket) and Tagano Love Kiseki (Fuji Kiseki).

Clianthus (3f Redoute’s Choice – Flower Park by Nihon Pillow Winner) was posting her second win from five starts in Japan.  Her dam Flower Park was a G1 winner of the Chukyo Takamatsunomiya Cup and Nakayama Sprinters Stakes.

Redoute’s Choice has been represented by six winners in Japan but Clianthus is the first one also foaled there.

Back home, Redoute’s Choice has sired 33 3yo winners in Australia & NZ this season.  Among them are the stakeswinners: King’s Rose, Rekindled Interest, Milestone and Kittens.
