More Than Ready targets Global Group 1 treble

More Than Ready’s reputation as a global sire is evident yet again when three of his star progeny tackle Group 1 races on three continents this Saturday.

Room Service leads the way for the Vinery champion.  She is looking for her fourth straight win in  the $1 million G1 Belmont Oaks in New York.

Room Service has quickly established herself as one of the best three year-old fillies in the USA thanks to consecutive victories in the G1 Ashland Stakes and G1 American Oaks at her two most recent outings.

Meanwhile in the UK, the Kentucky-bred Verrazano is out to add the Group 1 Coral Eclipse Stakes (2200m) to his impressive resume which already boasts G1 wins in the Wood Memorial and Haskell Invitational at home before leaving for his new digs at Ballydoyle.

Verrazano has done well switching continents and racing surfaces, finishing third over a mile in the G1 Lockinge Stakes and second over the same course last start in the G1 Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot.  The rise in distance to 2000 metres will suit Verrazano and Aidan O’Brien has trained 5 of the 14 winners of the Eclipse.

Rounding out the More Than Ready trio is Australian-bred Readytogorightnow who is expected to feature prominently in the G1 Durban July (2200m) in South Africa.

The Justin Snaith trained galloper boasts the celebrated racehorse and matron Denise’s Joy as his third dam which makes him a very close genetic relation to Group 1 champion More Joyous (More Than Ready).
