Glenlogan Park studmaster Steve Morley has joined the committee of Thoroughbred Breeders Queensland.
“Having been at the helm of Glenlogan Park for over 12 years I have had a good opportunity to understand many of the intricacies that make this industry function,” Morley said. “I have a real passion for the Queensland breeding industry and want to be involved in ensuring it flourishes and improves over the coming years.”
His key objectives are fostering a union between owners, trainers and breeders, ensuring QTIS operates at its optimum level and improving the level of professionalism within the Queensland breeding industry while rewarding successful participants.
Morley replaces former TBQA president Bob Frappell who resigned from the committee earlier this year. “I will devote plenty of time and effort to ensuring that breeding commercially in Queensland is truly a viable long term prospect.”
Long-serving TBQA committee members Erica Bates and Gary Turkington will return to their positions. No-one else nominated for the committee this year, thereby ruling out the need for an election.
The TBQA committee will be officially welcomed at the AGM / Eagle Farm Raceday on Saturday, September 7.
