Mungrup yearlings on parade

Mungrup Stud paraded its yearlings for the Perth Magic Millions in front of owners and trainers at Belmont Park on Friday afternoon.

Magic Millions auctioneer Grant Burns gave a running commentary on Mungrup’s draft which numbers 35 lots under its own banner.  Queenslea Thoroughbreds and Toreby Park are also offering yearlings on behalf of Mungrup and its clients.

Mungrup owner Gray Williamson had previously held the stud’s yearling parade at its Great Southern property but decided to move to the sales complex to ensure as many people as possible could attend.

Magic Millions has announced plans to relocate the auction to a purpose-built arena at Ascot and Williamson promised the Mungrup parade will become a annual event in future.

The Oratorio (Aus) and Danehill Express yearlings dominate the draft and the second-crop of Hala Bek also caught the eye.  His filly from Xaaristic (Lot 202) will be last to parade during the first session on Tuesday but she will attract attention being a half-sister to this season’s Belmont juvenile winner Vital Art.

The following Mungrup yearlings have been withdrawn from the Perth Magic Millions;   Lot 187, Lot 215, Lot 258, Lot 282, Lot 291, Lot 295 and Lot 382.
