Murtajill credited with first winner at Morphettville

Patinack Farm added a welcome credit to its ledger when Murtle Turtle scored a runaway victory in the Protect The Neck Plate (1000m) at Morphettville on Saturday.

The John Hyam trained filly is the first winner for Patinack sire Murtajill.  She had been runner-up on debut at Morphettville on October 27.

Murtle Turtle (2f Murtajill – Honey Bouquet by Last Tycoon) defeated the Street Boss youngsters Thiamandi and Capodecina by more than three lengths.  “The filly looks great and has bulked up,” Hyam said.  “She’s doing everything right and is coping with the workload.”

Murtle Turtle is a younger half-sister to Singapore Canada Cup winner Excavator (Happy Giggle).  Hyam bought her for $10,000 at the 2012 Adelaide Magic Millions and her owners include John’s wife Teena and Tom Girvan, Craig Hall, Kym Halliday, Crystle & John Kenneally and John Lindsay.

Murtajill (Rock Of Gibraltar) was a G3 winner of the AJC Skyline Stakes and stands at Patinack Farm for a fee of $16,500.
