My Emotion (NZ) can give Cox Plate hero Savabeel his first Group 1 winner as a sire in Caulfield’s Thousand Guineas (Race 6 at 3.40pm) this afternoon.

My Emotion is $17 in the www.sportingbet.com.au market and at that quote appeals on an each-way basis in the fillies feature.

In-form jockey Nick Hall will ride My Emotion for trainer Mick Kent who bought the filly for $230,000 at the 2007 Gold Coast Magic Millions yearling sale from the Turangga Farm draft.

My Emotion was at $41 when we tipped her for the Thousand Guineas on September 11 – the day before she won first-up at Moonee Valley.  She was resuming at the Valley after a juvenile campaign that consisted of just one start for one win in the G3 Breeders Stakes (1200m) at Flemington in March.

Savabeel is a son of Zabeel and was a G1 winner of the MVRC Cox Plate.  “I think he could be the next big stallion for New Zealand behind Sir Tristram and Zabeel,” his former trainer Graeme Rogerson said after he prepared King Sabeel to win at Rosehill in June.  “All the top trainers are talking up the Savabeels.  I think his stock will be classic horses and he could really be the boom sire at 2010 sales.”

Savabeel stands for a NZ$20,000 fee at Waikato Stud and his current book has been capped at 130 mares.

My Emotion is the first foal for the Rory’s Jester mare Midnight Rock.  Her second dam Tennessee Morn (Bletchingly) was a precocious juvenile who won the G2 VRC Maribrynong Plate, G3 Blue Diamond Prelude and the Listed Maribyrnong Trial.
