Myboycharlie unearthed a filly for the future when Camprock came from the clouds to win the Prix Biribi (1900m) at Chantilly on Friday.

Racing over an extended trip on debut, Camprock was angled out of traffic by Antoine Hamelin at the top of the straight and reeled in the favourite Not Only Florina (Makfi) with a thundering finish.  The form out of the race will stand up this year – the runner-up had been touted as a quality filly and she looked home when sprinting clear at the furlong.

Camprock is bred for the classics for part-owner and trainer Mme Pia Brandt.  Her dam Camporese (Sadler’s Wells) was a homebred for Michael Tabor and finished fourth in the 1996 English Oaks prior to claiming the G3 Prix Corrida (2200m) by five lengths.

Camporese is also the dam of Alice Belle (Street Cry) who was shipped to North America to win the Remington Park Oaks and Lone Star Oaks.  It’s the family of Juddmonte Farm’s Group 1 matriarch Hasili.

Myboycharlie (Danetime) stands at Vinery and he has five lots entered for the Inglis Summer Classic Sale on February 6 starting with the half-sister to Flemington Group 3 winner Onemorezeta (Lot 75).
