New Zealand shuttler sold to South Africa

Former New Zealand shuttler Great Britain has been acquired to stand at The Alchemy Stud in South Africa.

Great Britain (9h Green Desert – Park Appeal by Ahonoora) is a stakes winning brother to Cape Cross.  He was a trained by Saeed bin Suroor for Sheikh Mohammed and was a Listed winner of the 2007 Al Quoz Sprint at Nad Al Sheba.

Great Britain stood at Westbury Stud and Stoney Bridge in New Zealand.  His first Kiwi bred crop numbers 39 and they will debut as two year-olds in the coming season.

Six of his first yearlings were catalogued for the NZB Karaka Sale earlier this year, however, the only one to change hands made just $7,000.

As well as being a brother to Cape Cross, the sire of Sea The Stars and Ouija Board, Great Britain is also related to Diktat who sired last week’s July Cup winner Dream Ahead.

Great Britain will stand alongside Irish bred stallion Toreador (Danehill) and Goldmark (Golden Thatch) at The Alchemy Stud in Cape Provence.
