Ningaloo a Natural for Morton

Dan Morton has another promising galloper coming through the ranks in Perth.

The Ascot trainer produced Ningaloo Blitz to win the Westspeed Nursery Handicap at Belmont on Wednesday and she looked a particularly nice sort when stretching out to 1650 metres.

Ningaloo Blitz also gave Cromartry Park stallion Natural Blitz a timely boost when she stormed home to defeat the previously unbeaten Flag Officer (Excites) by over a length.

Natural Blitz (Dehere) won five Group 2 events in three states for trainer Doug Harrison.  He is now based at Olga McKenzie’s Cromartry Park alongside Redoutable (Redoute’s Choice), Lords A Leaping (Zabeel) and new signing Famous Roman (Danetime).

Ningaloo Blitz (2f Natural Blitz – Elzahoney by El Moxie) is raced by her breeder Alan Morton and Fred Fairthorne jnr among a partnership of 8 owners.  Fairthorne is also a member of the syndicates that race Morton’s Group 1 stars Scenic Blast and Scenic Shot.

“Natural Blitz is really beginning to get a move on with his first crop,” McKenzie claimed.  “Ningaloo Blitz is a chip off the old block and Alan sent her dam back to Natural Blitz last year.”

Ningaloo Blitz is the second winner by Natural Blitz following Ascot winner Classic Blitz.

From just 5 starters, Natural Blitz has also sired Push the Tempo who was runner-up on debut at Ascot for Darren McAuliffe and Miselle Blitz who was in the money behind top colt Benny’s Halo at Ascot at her second start.

Natural Blitz will stand for a $3,500 service fee at Cromartry Park this year.
