No denying Arrowfield freshman

Arrowfield sire Not A Single Doubt kept one step ahead of Fastnet Rock when the race for the Australian first-season sires’ title for individual winners went into overdrive over the weekend.

Coolmore sire Fastnet Rock made headway when his beautifully bred filly Hilton Head won at Doomben last Wednesday and he joined Not A Single Doubt on 11 winners after Rothesay scored at Rosehill on Saturday.

But Not A Single Doubt kicked clear again when his gelding Not A Snip A Doubt made in 12 individual winners this season in the Ronald McDonald House Maiden (1000m) at Hawkesbury on Sunday.

Not A Snip A Doubt (2g Not A Single Doubt – Snip Snip by Snippets) is a half-brother to VRC Maribyrnong Stakes (G3) winner Husson Lightning who is now based at Heytesbury Stud in WA.

He was bred by Ron Finemore and was retained by the AJC Chairman and partners when failing to reach a $200,000 reserve at the 2008 Gold Coast Magic Millions.

Not A Snip A Doubt was poised to pounce after A Roaring Success (Lion Heart) cut out fast sectionals in front.  Hugh Bowman sooled him to the front in the straight and they had enough in reserve to hold out quick closer Vain Shadow (Dane Shadow).

Sportingbet.com.au framed a new market for the first-season premiership on Monday.  Not A Single Doubt has firmed into a $1.50 favourite ahead of Fastnet Rock ($2.5) and Shamardal ($7).
