Oakland Park will disperse its broodmares at the Perth Magic Millions Sale in March. The draft will include stakes winning mares Hi On Love, Jestatune, Lady Go Bello, Most Secret, Paradise Park, Paris Petard and Umatune among 29 lots.
Oakland Park owners Neville and Susan Duncan plan to take a break from breeding. “We will offer all our broodmares for sale but will retain all our foals, yearlings and current racing stock,” Neville Duncan said. “Our agistment services for outside clients will also continue as normal.”
Resident stallions Viscount and Ihtriram will also stay at the North Jindong nursery in WA’s south-west.
Mares for sale include the dams of stakes winners Covertly, Grand Nirvana, Jestatune, Marasco and No Wine No Song. The majority of them in foal to Ihtiram (sire of Miss Andretti) and Viscount (sire of Rocket Man) plus Lonhro, Fast and Famous, O’Reilly, Blackfriars, Fath and Choisir.
Magic Millions Perth Manager Murray Tillett said the Oakland Park broodmare dispersal would give buyers an opportunity to compete for an outstanding line up of mares. “Neville and Susan have built up one of the great broodmare bands in the country,” Tillett said. “They will go under the hammer at the Belmont complex following the WA Oaks meeting at Ascot on March 26.”
The Duncans raced champion galloper Northerly and they will give multiple G2 winner Marasco one more preparation next year aimed at the Hyperion Stakes at Ascot.
