Group 1 winner Onemorenomore arrived at Vinery Stud last week and walked straight into the barn once occupied by his illustrious father Red Ransom.
Onemorenomore is one of two additions to the Vinery Stud roster in 2010, the other being the American wonder horse and Kentucky Derby – Preakness winner Big Brown.
“Onemorenomore is a magic looking horse,’” Vinery Stud’s Adam White said. `”He has plenty of size – he’s 16.1 hands, plenty of substance to go with it and just a really attractive sort of horse.
“He looks a picture at the moment, Patinack have done a really great job with him and we’re ready to show him off because he looks magnificent.’”
Onemorenomore is expected to receive a strong book of mares in his opening season, including a number of mares owned by Patinack Farm’s Nathan Tinkler.
Tinkler purchased Onemorenomore for $800,000 at the 2008 Australian Easter Yearling Sale. He was a racehorse of the highest calibre winning the Group 1 AJC Champagne Stakes (1600m) by four lengths ahead of Tickets and Manhattan Rain.
“We really wanted a son of Red Ransom and we identified Onemorenomore as the ideal one to have and that’s why we first approached Nathan and the deal was done,’” White explained. “Patinack stands his close relation Casino Prince and, given our interest in the horse, Nathan saw it as an opportunity to get added support by standing him here.’”
Apart from being his sire’s only 2YO Group 1 winner, Red Ransom’s burgeoning reputation as a sire-of-sires was an important factor in Vinery’s decision to target one of his elite sons.
“Red Ransom has obviously started very well as a sire of sires here,” White said. “He has a pedigree where he outcrosses all of our Danehill bred mares as well as colonial mares.’”
