At the Ocala 2YO Sale in Florida on Wednesday, a colt by former Arrowfield shuttler Orientate topped proceedings at $450,000.
Hill N Dale Bloodstock sold the colt who had breezed the fastest furlong in 10 seconds flat. He is out of Mir Cat (Tale of the Cat), a half-sister to stakes-placed Runnin Ute (Gone West).
A Stormy Atlantic filly consigned by Niall Brennan Stables was sold to Narvick International for $300,000. The chestnut filly is out of One West (Gone West), a half-sister to G3 winner Indescribable (Pleasant Tap).
Emmanuel De Seroux of Narvick International topped Day 2 of the Ocala Sale with $400,000 for a Majestic Warrior colt. De Seroux is a frequent participant toward the top of the buyers’ lists at Ocala and Barretts 2YO Sales acting on behalf of Japanese clients.
Zayat Stables went to $270,000 for a Brother Derek colt consigned by Eisaman Equine. Hid dam Nyanza (Montbrook) is a half-sister to stakes winner Sweet Nanette (You and I).
For the session, 193 horses grossed $8.40 million. The average price was $43,535, up 50% from Day 3 a year ago. The clearance rate improved 5 points to 83%. A total of 17 horses sold for $100,000 or more compared with 11 a year ago.
