Oxford colts fastest for NZB 2YO Sale

A pair of Oxford Thoroughbreds entrants broke 10 seconds for 200 metres during the second and final day of Breeze Ups for NZ Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale on November 20 & 21.

A first crop colt by Guillotine out of the Centaine mare Our Chicaine (Lot 244) clocked a sharp 9.93s.  Guillotine (Montjeu) is a half-brother to Efficient and he was a G2 winner of the MVRC Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes.

Oxford’s Darci Brahma colt from Encosta de Lago mare Lacango (Lot 171) ran the second fastest split of the day in 9.94s.

Tuesday saw the last 176 of 367 gallops at Te Rapa and the average time of 10.75 seconds was slightly faster than Monday’s average of 10.94 seconds.

Mana Park’s Fastnet Rock colt (Lot 242) from the American bred Stravinsky mare Oraia was third quickest in 10.21s.  He was one of a number of Fastnet Rock colts to make time.  Lyndhurst Farm’s colt (Lot 285) clocked 10.40s and Ascot Farm’s Fastnet Rock colt (Lot 128) was timed at 10.54s.

Every horse had blood taken immediately after its breeze up gallop to permit screening by a purchaser against a saleday sample.
