Patapan transfers to Timaru

Patapan will take up residence at Belmont Park in New Zealand’s South Island at Timaru this year.

He commenced stud duty at Brighthill Farm in 2008 with his best performer to date the LR Welcome Stakes winner Napatap.  His oldest progeny are three-year-olds and include the promising quartet of Delirium, Stamen, To Be Sure and debut winner Paterson Road.

Patapan (Stravinsky) will stand alongside Onceuponatime (Van Nistelrooy) and D’Cash (Danehill) at a fee of $3,000 (plus gst).  “He’ll be a really good fit and totally different on breeding to the two we’ve already got here,” Belmont Park’s Donna Williamson said.

Patapan was a stakes winner as a two and three year-old and was rated the joint champion older sprinter in Italy in 2006.  His younger half-brother Per Incanto (Street Cry) stands at Little Avondale Stud.
