Testa Rossa will get the chance to sire a Group 1 first in his former home state when Testa My Patience runs in the VRC Emirates Stakes at Flemington in a fortnight.
Testa Rossa started his stud career at Yallambee Stud but has gone to another level since transferring to Vinery Stud in the Hunter Valley.
He has built up a tremendous 70% strike rate while siring 390 winners of 1164 races. There have been 38 stakes winners among that total including the Adelaide G1 winners Rostova (Robert Sangster Stakes) and Testafiable (SA Derby).
Testa My Patience (5g Testa Rossa – Entente Cordiale by Jackson Square) earned a crack at the Emirates after winning the G2 Crystal Mile (1600m) at Moonee Valley on Saturday.
“He’s on the way up and will be well weighted in the Emirates,” trainer Mick Price said. “He might be the right horse in the right race at right time.”
Testa My Patience arrived over the horizon with four wins in a row at Sandown and Caulfield in February – March. He has kept improving this season since a first-up second to G1 The Galaxy winner Atomic Force at Caulfield in August.
He is raced by owner-breeders Antony and Mark Weber and is a younger half-brother to G1 Singapore Lion City Cup winner Ninetyfive Emperor (Rory’s Jester).
